MILAN RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

AC Milan are back on the Italian Serie A title trail after they thrashed hosts Genoa when the two teams met in the league on Wednesday night to return to winning ways after a two-match losing run. Milan had seen their quest for a league title suffer immensely due to back-to-back defeats, but they are back on track with the win at Genoa.

The poor run of two straight defeats started against hosts Fiorentina as AC Milan were on the wrong end of a seven-goal game. Fiorentina sealed a 4-3 home win over Milan to hand them their first defeat in the Italian Serie A this season. The Fiorentina defeat preceded the disappointing 3-1 loss at home to Sassuolo with ten men last weekend. All the goals has been scored before Milan skipper Alessio Romagnoli was given a red card in the final twenty (20) minutes.

AC Milan have been able to recover from the successive league defeats to Fiorentina and Sassuolothanks to the away win over struggling Genoa. The Rossoneri ran out 3-0 winners to ensure that they closed the gap on leaders Napoli on the Italian Serie A log. Brazilian attacker Junior Messias was the star of the show after he scored a brace either side of the interval to lead the seven-time European champions to victory.

Swedish football icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic set Milan on their way to a big Serie A victory overGenoa in the tenth minute before Messias doubled the lead in added time of first half. The Brazilian then completed his brace shortly after the hour mark to seal the win.

Milan have now moved within one point of league leaders Napoli who were held to a 2-2 draw at Sassuolo despite taking a two-goal lead as at the 59th minute. Napoli conceded two goals in the final quarter of the game to drop two previous points in the title race.

RAFAEL: 2009/10 LEAGUE CUP FINAL REVIEWD

Brazilian defender Rafael da Silva won a lot of major trophies during his time at the Theatre of Dreams. The fullback won eight major trophies as a Manchester United player, including three Premier League titles.

Rafael da Silva was also part of the Manchester United squad that won the 2009/10 League Cup title. In addition to three league titles and one League Cup titles, Rafael da Silva also won three Community Shields and the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup title with the Red Devils.

Manchester United emerged winners of the 2009/10 League Cup title thanks to their final win over Aston Villa. Ecuador star Antonio Valencia was named the best player as Manchester United beat Villa 2-1 in the final to seal the League Cup win.

Rafael started that League Cup final win over Villa on the right side of the Manchester United defence. Poland shot stopper Tomasz Kuszczak started in goal for the team with the likes of Rafael da Silva, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic as his defenders.

Manchester United didn’t have things their own way after they went behind as early as the fifth minute through a James Milner penalty. It took the Red Devils just seven minutes to come up with the reply for the aforementioned Milner penalty. Michael Owen started the game in attack alongside Dmitar Berbatov and the former Real Madrid and Liverpool man was responsible for the United equaliser on 12 minutes.

Owen scored and he was then substituted due to injury. His replacement, Wayne Rooney would go on to score the winning goal on 74 minutes. The goal from Rooney was enough to give Manchester United a 2-1 victory and the League Cup title for the 2009/10 season.

Brazilian defender Rafael da Silva didn’t play the whole game against Villa as he made way for the experienced Gary Neville in the final quarter of the game.
